Piantante Lunghe

Amedeo Giustini wanted to revive his family wine business, but he needed partners. So he got together with Roberto and Guido Mazzoni: the Mazzonis’ eight hectares, plus Amedeo’s 4.5 ha, plus south-facing slopes and an old wooden press, equal Rosso Conero that tastes so thoroughly Italian it practically wears its jacket slung across its shoulders and its sunglasses propped on top of its head. It’s all black cherry and tea: rich, with a brisk, grippy edge.
