Marqués de Alella

This is the still side of Parxet whose pride and joy is their Marqués de Alella Clásico, which is made entirely from the local Pansa Blanca variety.

José María Pujol Busquets, who pioneered this lushly flavoured and not so dry white back in 1981 – worth noting that this was Spain’s first steel-fermented white - has now sadly moved on, but his very able replacement is the young, switched on Xavier Carbonell who obviously learnt much from him.
